Jackson, Miss. (November 24, 2015) – Officials from catfish producer and processor Consolidated Catfish announce the company is expanding operations at its facility in Isola, Miss., in Humphreys County. The project represents a corporate investment of $900,000 and will create 12 jobs.
“Mississippi’s existing businesses, such as Consolidated Catfish, are major economic drivers for the state. When they choose to expand, it shows companies around the U.S. and the world that Mississippi provides companies with the competitive edge needed for growth and longevity,” Gov. Phil Bryant said. “I thank the team at Consolidated Catfish for its commitment to Humphreys County and the state of Mississippi and wish the company many more years of success in Isola.”
“Consolidated Catfish wishes to thank MDA for their assistance in bringing this project to fruition and for their continued commitment to the development of this area of our state,” said Consolidated Catfish President Richard Stevens.
Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project for infrastructure improvements.
“MDA salutes the teamwork of our partners at the Belzoni Humphreys Development Foundation and the Humphreys County Board of Supervisors, which contributed to Consolidated Catfish’s expansion in Isola, creating new economic opportunities for Mississippians in the Delta region,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough. “MDA looks forward to many more years of success for the Consolidated Catfish team in Humphreys County.”
