Skyline Steel Expanding in Iuka, Miss., Creating 15 Jobs

Jackson, Miss. – Skyline Steel, a Nucor company, is expanding operations in Iuka, Miss., investing $15 million and creating 15 new jobs.

“Mississippi’s existing businesses, like Skyline Steel, are at the core of the state’s economy. When they grow and create new jobs for the state’s workforce, they are not only investing in their business but strengthening the local community and economy,” Gov. Phil Bryant said.

Skyline Steel’s Iuka location currently manufactures large diameter spiral-welded pipe for foundations, bridges, wharves, piers and more. The expansion involves the addition of new equipment, enabling the company to produce straight-seam electric resistance welded pipe for the same purposes.

“Skyline Steel is appreciative of the continued support from the Mississippi Development Authority, Tishomingo County Development Foundation, the Yellow Creek Port Authority, the Tishomingo County Board of Supervisors, Tennessee Valley Authority and Northeast Mississippi Community College.  All have played a part in the success of our company over the past 10 years,” said Skyline Steel Iuka General Manager Marty Hall.

MDA provided assistance for the relocation and installation of equipment.

“MDA is glad to support Skyline Steel as the company increases is product line in Tishomingo County and creates new career opportunities for the people of Northeast Mississippi,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “We appreciate the teamwork of all of our economic development partners, which assisted Skyline Steel with this expansion.”

Skyline Steel currently employs 45 workers in Iuka.
