Jackson, Miss. – Mississippi businesses can learn more about subcontracting and procurement opportunities at the Mississippi Development Authority’s 2017 Government Procurement Opportunities Conference and Trade Fair. The event will be held May 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center, 2350 Beach Blvd., in Biloxi.
“The Government Procurement Conference and Trade Fair is one way Mississippi strives to grow the state’s businesses by partnering with government agencies and corporations to ensure they are armed with the resources necessary to successfully compete for contracts,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr.
Companies are invited to make connections with federal, state and local governments and corporate buyers at the biennial event. The conference also promotes partnerships and strategic alliances to aid Mississippi businesses in competing in the global marketplace.
Invited U. S. government agencies and defense contractors include: Department of Defense (Army, Air Force and Navy) installations, Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Small Business Administration, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Veterans Affairs, Lockheed Martin, The Boeing Company, Huntington Ingalls, Northrop Grumman and NASA.
Approximately 60 Mississippi state purchasing offices are invited to participate as exhibitors. Private sector invitees include Chevron, Mississippi Power Company and Entergy.
