Corps to hosts workshop for service disabled veterans

Vicksburg, Miss…– The Vicksburg District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a contracting workshop for Veteran-owned businesses on Tuesday, July 29, 2008. The workshop will be from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Vicksburg Convention Center 1600 Mulberry Street, Vicksburg, Miss.
The workshop targets veteran-owned small business and service disabled veteran-owned and other small concerns interested in doing business with local, state and federal entities in Mississippi. In addition to receiving information about how to “Do Business with the Vicksburg District”, participants will have the opportunity to market with prime contractors for subcontracting opportunities; sign up for services provided in central Mississippi by the MDA’s Mississippi Procurement Technical Assistance Program and receive information from Small Business Administration on the Patriot Loan Program, 8(a), HUBZone, and other programs offered to small business. Also, the Veteran Administration will be on program to discuss their programs available to veteran owned small businesses.
There is no cost for the training session, but registration is required. For more information, contact Shirley Reed at 601-631-5347.
